Just wondering how big bela Sharks need to be to start breeding and what conditions are good and if I need to add anything to a tank to let them breed

From what I understand Bala sharks are very hard to breed in captivity. Many are assisted through hormone treatment to advance the process.

Im certainly not in the same category as some of the fish keepers in here so happy to be proven wrong. Im very interested if someone has been successful in doing this as I have 4 myself :-)

10 - 15cm minimum breeding size. Hard to tell sexes apart. Best bet for pairing up is to get half a dozen and grow them up together. Bare bottom tank as with most breeding setups. Helps to see the eggs and fry and keep water quality high. Female scatters eggs about the place, male does his thing. Once the eggs are fertilised, remove adults or they will probably munch the fry and sometimes the eggs. The usual precursor to egg production and subsequent breeding is a courting/breeding "dance".
