Hi all,
I bought a couple of archers and have been struggling to feed them, not from lack of trying on their behalf.
I have 5 Congo tetras that are slightly larger or same size as them that get the food due their more aggressive eating habits. The archers are spitting insects and then the congos are getting on to it before them.
Just wondering if anyone has some other possible solutions?
Also, when I come up to feed them, the archers shy away while the congos are all over the tank, so whilst feeding flake and pellets, it's mostly all gone by the time the archers come out.
Hence I am selling my congos at the moment.
Thanks, David

Selling the congos will solve the problem. They are moderately shy feeders so they often get left out. Best bet is to keep them with bottom dwellers if you want issue free feeding times. They can be kept with others no worries but it just takes some more work at feeding time.

hey man - i feed my archers flakes and pellets so there is plenty to go round
other possibility is that you feed them in the dark with a small light so they can see the insects

Thanks for the fast replies
The problem I'm having is that when I approach the tank they shy away but hopefully as they get more comfortable they will become more confident
But yeah I'll sell my congos because I am planning to lower the water level for the archers after I sell them, is $50 fair for the five?
