Hi all,

The December meeting will be an auction.....Tuesday the 6th and in preparation I would like to start taking bookings for lots.

The doors will open at 7pm to start processing lots and the auction will start at 8.15pm.
PLS note no lots will be accepted into the auction after 8.00pm
BBQ will also be available.
Due to the success of the charity lots at the last auction we will be accepting all donations again at this auction with all funds raised going to a very worthy cause.
There are a few changes to the auction by-laws that all members need to be aware of.

*This auction will be limited to 120 lots ..plus charity lots.
*Each member will be limited to 7 lots each (This does not include charity lots) .... if we do not hit 120 lots then we can increase that number.
*All lots must be pre-booked...with no exceptions. All pre booking must be sent to me with the following information:
:Scientific and common name of fish
:Size and number of fish
:Sex where possible and a reserve if wanted.
*All lots will be inspected on the night and any lots with deformed / unidentifiable or undersized fish will be removed.
*All lots will now have the sellers name listed on the bag.
* Fish bagged incorrectly will not be accepted. No sandwich bags or ziplock bags allowed. There will be a $1 charge for the re-bagging of fish
*When bidding on the night pls remember that collection and payment of lots will only take place at the end of the auction.The pcs does not accept iou for payment..... if you dont have the money to pay for your lots then dont bid.
*At the end of the auction your lots will be collected and given to you ( after payment ) by a committee member.Under no circumstances are you permitted to collect your own lots.
* Lots (selling) are only open to Club Members but you can become one on the night. Anyone can bid / buy. General Public are welcome to attend.
* The pcs takes a 10% commission on all sales at the auction.
* Non pcs club members pay an additional 10% of total sale price per lot.
* The Rotary Hall is not a licensed venue and alcohol is not permitted. Anyone drinking in the hall will be asked to leave.

does this mean as a non club member, if you win an auction at say $100, it will actually cost you $110? and the buyers gets $90 while the club gets $20? or does the club take 10% of the $110, ie $11 while the seller gets $99? is this a new condition of sale or did i just notice it? cheers

it's been like that forever (correct me if i'm wrong pls!)

non-club members can bid (not sell) and pay 10% commision.
club members can sell and pay 10% commission on each sale. they don't pay commission on buying.

must have a selective memory! good to know the non members can still contribute to the club while picking up a bargain at the same time

Is also a good opportunity for people to become club members. Instead of spending it on commission they can put it toward membership.

I think there were at least 7 sign-ups last auction.

Not many lots booked in people .... arround 35 so if that hasnt gone up by thurs night then individual caps will be lifted until we get to 120.

Hey tranced,

to work out your 10% its quite easy, its the same as shops or any busyness working out the gst

if the sale is like you have said, then a $100 sale + 10% = $110

the way you have worked this out is - 10%, wich doesnt work (unless you have a till that does it)

the only way to do it is you have your total price, $110 , then devide that by 1.1 and that will tell you your gst/10%

Hi guys, i rushed out of the auction with my arms full of bags i didnt get a chance to say thanks to those involved in organising and running the auction on the night. Thanks to all involved it was a good night and i went home with some good buys

It was my first time going to the auction. It was fun and bought a few goodies. Well done guys, did an awesome job. I will be at the next auction for sure (If it is on tuesday)
