I've deleted posts. They make good points but are tainted with insults directed at other members and this is not acceptable. If you have comments make them without insulting people's intelligence or opinions.

I like the idea of Uber but never understood the arguements against, I found this heated discussion very interesting.

i dont get it - its an illegal service.... an overseas company that doesnt pay a cracker in tax and its destroying cabbies lives/families who now cant make a mediocre living...  many will soon be lining up for social security... well done... but why should i care many of the cabbies are from a background that i dont approve of anyway...

i only decided to post as a mates dad used the service and ended up in a punchup and someone going to hospital... but where is the media to report this? like many issues at the moment still got their heads in the sand.... puppets couldnt get ruperts hand out of their rectum....

mind you the media doesnt report everytime a cabbie gets rolled either so im just wasting my breathe  :Rofl_3f:

What would a drivers yearly income be,,,,, because the entire yearly income for the driver is severely chopped when comparing to taxi.
The standard yearly income for a taxi driver couldn't of been that good to begin with ???
And being halved ?? Hmmm.

All this is, and I'm telling you now,,, these people come in, and are willing to slave themselves into working rediculous long hours and with
having absolutely no lives outside that.
They can take the cut in income because the rediculous hours working is making up for what's needed.
Means you have to work harder to earn same money as the new median or average.
What's so good about that ??????

I have no idea on the uber,,,, so is their income going over seas and getting taxed based on their own country ???
Then getting sent back here to driver,,,,,,, or extra portions stay over seas ???

Doesn't anyone think cost of living in Australia is relative to what our incomes are ??? by bussiness,,, and services performed here is for growth of Australia and not overseas ????
What's so proud about selling ourselves out ????

and this is what happens when you deregulate a system:

In the past 12 months, nine men who drive Uber cars or taxis have been charged with assaulting female passengers in Australia.

In WA alone, Uber driver Zeljko Koncarevic was found guilty of indecently assaulting a female passenger as he drove down Canning Highway in February this year.

Perth taxi driver Simardeep Singh, 31, was jailed in August after pleading guilty to an incident in 2011 where he raped an 18-year-old female passenger and indecently assaulted another.

And now there is a "woman and boys under 12 years old" ride sharing service called SheSafe.....
