Did anyone else see the story in the west today? Pearl Cichlids have been found in the rswan river between Bassendean and Maylands this last week.

Nothing illegal about catching them if you can get past the bream and blowies.

I knew they where in the swan and have been for awhile but there making there way up it pritty fast I have 2 of these dudes in my tank they where the first fish I got here in Wa and used them to cycle my tank and breed in the first 2 weeks of being in there at only 2-3 max and have done every month since then I see why these guys are a threat there hard as fish i had no heater at the time and the temp went from 19c one night and right up to 34c+ In those hot days in summer with in the first month and thy did fine and breed and are reaching 10cm now and looking to lay batch number 5. I think These dudes worry me in there with no big fast breeding fish to keep the numbers down

As in Geophagus brasiliensis?

I heard this a while ago.

I have acouple in my tank in the shed. Do a good job of eating crap off the bottom. Beautiful fish. Grow quiet large as well.

Hard to see how they can adapt to such temp changes being from the amazon originally I think?

Obviously they have though!
