Hi yas all,

Always love watching the AP threads, my mate has a pretty decent set up so thought I'd share a pic of one of his 2 yo barra that found it's way into my frypan.

He kept 50+ of these bad boys through Jandakot winters by using;
  • pool blanket over the pond
  • pool solar sysytem
  • pipe coiled up inside a pizza oven which was always lit
  • instantanious gas hot water system
Needless to say he won't be rushing out in a hurry to do it again! he's just got a hold of this winters rainbow trout stock

Was a bit dubious on how it would taste cos I'm not the biggest barra fan especially farmed, but cudos to the grower he did the righty and brine purged it for a decent length of time.

It came up pretty bloody good!, I was really impressed; or maybe its just my cooking?

Great stuff mate. Your mate got it/them to a good size in 2 years. Great fish to keep.
