I wrote my post poorly.

I get my fish from Ferguson Springs.
He is the person who raises them to fingerling size.
He is the one who gives me the info on available fish.
I am going off what i have been told from him.

But blaming PTH for a high mortality rate on grow out farms is like saying all the neon tetras sold in fish shops are diseased because a high proportion are dead after 6 months.
There are way too many factors involved.

Of the grow out farmers I know of, 2 use grow out dams and one uses conical bottom tanks in a shed.
They are largely at the mercy of summer heat.
This year we had the heat wave between Christmas and New year, trout just aren't going to handle that temperature.

And I completely understand your frustration :)

maybe it was all my fault... 10yrs ago i went to pemberton, slipped and fell into one of their ponds :wacko: haha!
