Didn't David Bottrill who produced some Tool stuff produce some King Crimson stuff as well? Maybe its the producer you like the sound of?

He worked on the album Thrak and for Tool it was Aenima, Lateralus and Salival from memory. I'm not sure if you've heard King Crimson but they are somewhat different to Tool (and in some ways similar). King Crimson I enjoy because of the complexity of their music (their guitarist Robert Fripp - AMAZING) and Tool because they have such a great sound, great lyrics, gread drummer, great singer and great bassist. Sorry Adam Jones, your tremolo picking and drop D tuning does nothing for me

As for you Dazza - I'm not familiar with any of your artists
