My Custom Tank Build
#1

plan was to have two "living pictures" hanging from my wall separating my dining/living room from my games room.
two bare tanks installed on purpose built wall and return
850L future home of some lucky Tanganyikans
because the tanks have to be see through with no visable accessories i hand built the "side grounds"
850L up and running
love the dodgy lighting
cornice cut away and frame fitted
frame fitted and centre supports added
moisture resistant board screwed in place and cornice cut and bogged in
is starting to take shape
getting closer to the picture in my heade.
i've bought 3 metal halides for some good lighting
need to find a talented picture frame maker to finish this side , then its other side and the cabinetry.
will keep you update.
Cheers

that is something that i want to do when i build my next house...
i'm planning on getting waste pipes pre-layed into the slab, and water pipes chased into the wall as the house is getting build...
that will then save dragging in hoses for water changes...

I've just recently finished some work on a house in Marmion where they are having a tank in the master bedroom which can be seen from lower levels, but the filtration will be in the garage at the other end of the house, all the plumbing was layed in the slab. Gonna look great.
You could try something like that Jezza ^^
I believe AAA are doing that one.

not really Tim , im just about to start painting my whole house the week after next ( including the fish wall ) and as long as none falls in the tank and all the windows n doors are open , i cant see there being a problem.
the work just completed was almost odourless , i was more worried about the fish getting spooked , they were using a gas charged nail gun and my dogs were not too happy.
thanks for all the comments guy's , im off to bunnings to by some ceiling white so i can paint and sand this arvo.
