how long has the live rock been curing? Also id reconsider the damsel now cause they will impact on what you want to put in it in the future.

I have a 6tube T5 light, 4 15000k and 2 blue lights. Ordered the DIY LED's to see how they go.
Its a no name skimmer, just put a 2000L/hr pump on it, ( want to put a bigger one on).
Have 2x2000L/hr wavemakers,
and about 10-12kgs of live rock.

Everything in the tank looks really healthy.
Do 2x30-40% water changes a week, will reduce to 1 per week soon.

Update pics to come soon of all equipment, fish and corals.

That looks rather nice, Gareth. Like the cavey effect. How big is the tank?

Looking good Gareth!

I dont know how good you are at soldering, but if you need a hand setting up the new light when it arrives, let me know.

Thanks for the offer kitchen Wench, hahahah. Did do a bit of soldering in high school. So i'll see if I still know how to do it, not that its very hard...

Thanks again mate.

Had some bad news, my flame angel I had for 2 days died. Very unhappy atm.
Dunno why it died, my other 3 fish are perfectly fine and all the corals still look good too.
Did water tests and all parameters were fine, had a saline test 2 days ago and everything was good, have RO water that I top up the tank with everyday.

So for the one fish to die alone is a mystery to me. It had no marks on it from a possible tankmate attack.

Yeah sorry to hear mate, thats where a quarantiene tank helps. When you talk parameters what do you test for?

Ok, when the tank gets a few months old dont bother with amonia or nitrite, start testing for phosphate, magnesium, calcium. The big ones that cause issues are nitrate and phosphate. Also what I was trying to say before is slow down. The tank needs time to adjust to the bio load you have in there atm. The loss could have been agression or a spike in amonia. How ever there is no way of proving anything.

Its not hard, however semi conductors, and especially LEDs are very heat sensitive.

Good luck! And sorry for your loss
