I know of people using the marbles for breeding petrocola..... pretty sure they just used any marbles and didnt worry about the color.

All we are allowing is for people to ask a question on w/c or f1 when they are posted for sale.
As for over east breeders being offended...a. It is compulsory for w/c fish for sale to state who the importer is on tropheus fanatics and .b. who cares if there insulted.... This is a wa forum with wa members... And it's there opinions that the cm find important not the feelings of the east coast

Imo bloat in Ts is not very easy to treat.... that is if it is even bloat that is the problem and not dropsy........can be very difficult to tell the diff.
I have kept a few diff Ts and spawned a few as well and imo diets high in protein are not a good idea.....any Tropheus keeper will tell you that.
Ts most definitely are the closest thing to vegetarian fish there are and the vast majority of there diet in the wild is algae but will still take the opportunity to eat other foods if it arises.
Some of the best T breeders i know will let there fish 'spit' there fry in the tank with very few fry if any being eaten by the parents.
The best thing you can do with your tropheus is let them be.
Get the water quality right and stable ....pick the food you want to feed them ....then just let them do there thing....if you are constantly messing with ph gh temp etc etc this is when you will stress the fish and start having problems.
They tend to have very little ability to be able to handle change.
Good quality food is a good idea .......nls or flora are some of the best i have found.
Best med to have on hand for them ( if you can find it ) is clout imo.
These are just my experiences.
If you want to learn alot more about tropheus then there is a fantastic Australian tropheus site that has some of the best articles you will find on keeping Ts.....just google tropheus and im sue you will find a few fanatics around.

Hi all

Just quick notice about posting wild caught and / or F1 fish.
In the past questions asking for proof of linage on f1 and w/c fish have caused some arguments and made it difficult to moderate.
The cm has decided that it is only fair if you post up w/c or F1 fish for sale then people should have the right to ask for proof of this. A question asking for proof should be something along the lines of :::: Can you pls tell me when and where you got the w/c from?
This is not an invitation to start arguments and any abusive comments and the like will be deleted.

For those wishing to sell there fish as w/c or F1 then it would be a good idea to post some form of proof of this in the ad ... a simple 1 line comment under the add would be as follows:

Fish were purchased in Aug 2010 in a shipment from xxxxxx.

If you advertise fish as w/c or F1 and the question is asked pls edit the op with your answer. Adding this info as a new post instead of editing your op will be considered a bump and you may find your thread removed under the 4 day bump rule.

Any questions feel free to ask in this thread.

This is the 2nd spawn.
The parents were great for the 1st spawn ...didnt eat any eggs and were very protective of the fry.......until the parents decided they wanted to spawn again....only after 3 weeks from the 1st spawn ...then they went on a feeding frenzy of the 1st batch of fry.
This batch siphoned up just as the eggs hatched and put them in a fry saver...so hopefully they will do well.
The parents are in there own tank and seem to want to spawn pretty regular.

Will get some pics of the fry in the saver up in the next few days.

On that note ...thanks to all that have donated for charity at this and past auctions.

So far we have raised $941 for the charitys and after this auction we should see that rise to around the $1500 mark.

Just a reminder that booking will close this friday with no exceptions so if you would like to enter some lots into the auction then pls do so before this time.
Also 1 point that was missed in the op is all lots must be bought to the auction bagged.( pls dont bring a bucket and ask us to bag them as it is very time consuming on auction night).

We will not be offering a bagging service....we will be able to replace the odd leaky bag and re-tie bags as nessesary.
