I just pulled the existing wiring out but left the fittings to keep the moisture out and drilled some 4mm holes to run the wiring through.
I soldered the strips in a continual run ending with the blue and attached a connecter to the power end

Finished off with some silicon over the soldered connections to keep them from rusting and that's it
