hi every one, my name is Brenda and i live in Albany WA ( for those of you who are wondering where that is, 400km south of perth). we have 4 tanks at home, one guppies, one semi agressive with 5 blue acara cichlids, 1 gourami, 1 featherfin, one pictus, 6 kuhlie loaches, 3 bristle nose and 1 black shark this tank is 300 plus, it is run by a fluval 305 external filter. the acaras breed like crazy, on average, we have about 1 batch per month although in the last 2 months we have had 5. most of these get eaten as i have no where else to put them, i have another 300 plus tank which has 2 golden sharks, 6 cardinals, 4 congos, 2 bristle nose, 1 widow tetra. it did have 4 firemouth cichlids but they all died within about 3 weeks of each other, started panting one by one and had no idea what was wrong, this tank has fluval 306 external filter, the other tank is a 3 foot which is the nursery for the acara babies, currently there are about 25 in there. the biggest one is over an inch long now. looking forward to gaining more cichlid knowledge and being able to share with others
Hello Everyone

Hi Brenda, welcome to PCS.
Haven't been to Albany for many years, but I'll always remember how beautiful it is.
We used to go down there for annual holidays when I was a kid.
Nice selection of fish you have there, maybe you could share some pics
There's a wealth of information here and if the search function doesn't bring up what you're looking for, ask away in the appropriate section, and I'm sure someone with the knowledge and answers to your queries will respond.
