Hi,
After keeping shrimp for about a year and getting stability and perameters down pat, i have decided to give marine a go. Below is a list of what my plans are based upon reading pretty much every nano marine article there is. I would like to keep it basic and if its working for me, i will upgrade smile.gif Here we go

Setup:
40cm Cube braceless nano with black silicone
40cm Black custom ADA cabinet
LED's (Blue and White) sufficiant for corals (havent chosen one yet)
HOB nano protein skimmer
Nano wave maker (approx 800lph?)
100w Heater
Coral sand
Approx 7-8kg live rock
Thermometer, Ph monitor and hydrometer
Corals later on down the track

Livestock:
2 x Juvie Ocellaris clowns
2 x Royal Dottyback
1 x Starfish
2 x Cleaner shrimp
2 x Cleaner snails

Perameters:
Ph: 8-8.5
Kh: 8-11
Calcium: 400-450
Magnesium 1350 (3 x Calcium levels)
Salinity: 1.025-1.026
Temp: 25-26
Ammonia, Nitrates, Nitrites, Phosphaes: 0

Will this be ok, keeping in mind this is my first attempt, so i am trying to keep it simple for now. Oh, and i know i have to take it slow and shouldnt put corals and livestock in until the tank is fully cycled. I will also be using RO water and red sea salts smile.gif
Thanks

Wouldn't bother mixing your own salts its much easier and cheaper to get yourself a 200L water drum and get it delivered.

No not necessary. My marine nano is smaller then yours will be and I started off mixing salt and soon a changed to delivered water. It's easier there is no stuffing around with mixing and getting the right salinity and over the corse of a year you will save a couple hundred on water.
But you do what works.

How long does it last unfiltered outside in a storage container?

On advice from the supplier my NSW (Natural Salt Water) will last indefinately if covered. I have 1000l delivered every 6 weeks or so.

Wow you must have a serious setup going on. Does my choice in livestock and equipment seem ok?

lose the starfish, none last long in a home aquarium. With the skimmer look into tunze skimmers they are decent for the price. As for water flow 800 L/hr maybe a little low, you will need to play with placement or add a second one.
+1 with the nsw its cheaper and easier unless you live in a top story apartment.
