Hey there,
I'm looking for some info from people who have had experience breeding any large Catfish, specifically Hemibagrus and Bumblebee Cats.
Whether you used hormones or not, doesn't matter I just need a few tips before I embark on this project.
I've got a small colony of Pseudomystus siamensis (2 female, 3 male) that I would like to breed before moving onto the Hemibagrus Nemurus.
All info useful, thanks in advance!

I've spoken a bit with a few guys in QLD who breed Catfish and I've got some good tips.
I was really just wanting some more specific details, such as what those breeders would be able to tell.
At least now I know it can be done!

it can be done in the wild so its just a case of replicating the conditions in a tank or pond hormones will just speed things up

Thanks Johnno.
Can you or somebody else give me a step by step guide to using the hormone?
I'm fairly sure I understand it, just want to be sure.
Is it:
1, Check for egg maturity
2, Once eggs are mature, inject recommended dosage of Ovaprim.
3, After a week (?) strip the milt and eggs of the fish together in a bowl/put the fish together for a natural spawn.
That's just what I've got so far....
