Filter socks are good at polishing your water but require nearly daily changing.

gota leak test the baffles in the sump and then just to a test cycle with freshwater through the whole system get all my flows right i guess and finish off the plumbing side of things. then il be looking for some powerheads. vebas had some hydors 1600 lph but doing some reading on different brands.

vortech have their own controller. Vortech pumps are great for a wide undirectional flow. Tunze are great cause their flow can be pointed.

Note, the tunze are a propeller pump like the vortech and have been around longer than the vortech.

as far as i can tell from researching tunze, the smallest unit they have that can be used on the tunze controller is the 6055. individually the 6055 advertises that it will do 40-500l aquarium volume whereas in a controller and 6055 combo it says its for 200 and above aquarium volume. my tank is only about 160l plus the tunze is killer expensive. the vortech is up there too but im reading a lot of good reviews on the vortech so far. i like the idea of the controller aspect not sure how to address it practically towards 160 litres of volume tho.

directing the flow with the tunze is a seller i guess
