Enjoyable time was had - albeit freekin late!  (seriously could we start a bit earlier!!!!?) All my fish survived the 6+ hours in the bags!  Was nervous (first time at an auction) but got into the swing of things in the second half and scored a couple of fishy lots.

In regards to the seller bidding i don't think it should be allowed except for 1 bid only (if) needed to get the ball rolling....

The only other thing was maybe next time if we could relegate all the coughing, sneezing and sick people to a corner with an outside window open!!!!!! hahahahahahahaha lol

Kind Regards,

Matt

Matt

On that note I'd like to say as Az said before, think of the fish guys, keep stocking rate low in bags aswell as size. I was quite excited to try get my hands on my first cichlids in over 6 months and the ones I wanted were smaller then the actuall sellable size if 3cm we recommend on the forum.

Ok sorry for my rant, was a great auction, I havnt heard of any losses but without action from Az I'm sure there would have been.

The hongis I got were real small, good thing I didn't look at them and bought them while I was out having a smoke, I reckon one was 2cm, at least I know that next time I can bring tiny fish, would of added more lots if I had known that was ok.

Really need to make a rule against shill bidding too... That's what reserves are for!

I can't stress it enough..... Fish under 3cm (unless dwarf species) is just not right.

I usually pull them from the auction, but I missed them this time round.
Next auction, I will remove any fish that is under 3cm.
Sounds harsh, but not fair on the fish or the buyer IMO.

Another thing I would like to bitch about (I know I know)
This is WAY too much water.
When bagging fish you should aim for about 1/4 of the bag.
Fish won't run out of water, but they will run out or air.
More air less water.

Don't blame you for missing the small fish az you already had heaps to do. And don't worry I was joking about bringing baby fishes to the auction,, I never sell a fish under 3-4cm.

The one in the photo above is from a lady in Tassie.
But if someone over here has them, keep breeding them.

I wouldn't sell guppy's any smaller than 40cm as they stress out too much otherwise haha :( :D :D

The lady bought it as a standard BN. (Hobart)
But someone on FB said that they saw one at the auction.

Marty, I'll ignore your comment :P

No not yet mate. Got common kribs that breed like mad, but that's kribs for you. They make good live food, being in a community tank

I hope to get some other stuff breeding if I can get hold of them once my next lot of tanks are set up.
