I thought i might get a couple of photos up of my Oscars and RTGG in my bichir tank.

Its a 4x2 and also has a raphael hiding away and a couple of small eel tails who all seem to be happy enough.

Theres also a convict in there. He seems to always hang around and is one of the first fish i got.

Plans are to obtain a 8x2.5 or even a 8x3 in the next month depending on what comes up for sale.

I was also wondering do albino tiger oscars normally get black tips on there fins etc? You will see what i mean in the photos.

Anyways thanks for having a look

The blackness on your oscars is perfectly normal IMO.
I'm no expert but when i had my oscars, the water would be pristine and they still had the darkening fins.

They sort of grow out of it also.

Hope I have been of help.

Cheers

There was a post not long ago in this subject of darkened fins.
This is because it's not a albino,,,,,, it's a lutino.

Yeah I msged him and he is asking a good price for the tank, unfortunately I don't have the funds at the minute.
Ahh how I miss my bichir, good to see he is well cared for, still amazed about the colour change!
None the less, looking good!
Shop around for a tank quote, I had a 2200 price difference in building an 8x3, was shocked, when I was quoted less to build the tank in the first place from a place!!

A Pimelodus ornatus would be the perfect edition to your tank.

Yeh ive also contacted the guy with the 8x3. Would be a perfect size and it comes with a pretty big sump.

Im waiting at the moment to get some extra $$ together but it might be sold before i get to it.

I think its on the second story as well so a bit of a pain to move. Things gotta weigh a tonne and most of my mates live down south

Does anyone know of a good removalist?

Just sold my rtc so i put the oscars and eel tails in my 8x3. Hopefully they will grow a bit faster. Going to go down and get some black substrate and do up the bichirs tank and add some plants.

The black marks around the albino (or lutino) has gotten darker and looks awesome. I really hope it stays black.

I will take a couple of photos tomorrow if you want to see

Just got my first oscar he is tiny though! Can't wait to watch him grow... Think him anyway.

What is their grow span?

Hehe, shouldn't you know that before buying an oscar? I think they grow up to 30cm.
