hello one and all, i joined up around September last year.. and never put up a intro

well I'm 25 married and have a 8mth old boy(trouble) who is nearly walking. Just brought our own place in Seville grove and am loving it. Been keeping fish since i was about 8.. when my grandparents gave me my first couple of gold fish. Then i went into tetras and the tropical scene, moved into cichlids.

Atm i have a 50cm jardini, 4x 28-30cm Oscars(2 red tigers and 2 albino tigers), 2x 28cm gold spot plecos, and a 28cm common pleco.

i used to have some clown knifes tho had to down size a few years back when i was moving and renting... oh the joy that was.

Now i have finally got my own place i can now look at upgrading again. I have a 2.5mx1mx1m tank 80% finished in my dads shed, which is a little project for the front theater room in the house. apart from that the only thing i haven't tried and am interested in is having a go at breeding some fish. Not after a huge set up just maybe some EY and EB something to start off with.

anyways that's about me, so hopefully i will see many of you around and about on the forums

current tank sorry about the photo quality (phone photo)

This is the project .. early stages, don't have a up to date one tho

Lookin good Yogi.

Is this front panel going to be glass, perspex?

Are you sticking with your tankbusters or moving into something like marine?

Yogi , welcome mate , good to see another southie on board.

that tanks is absolutely H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D mate , i wouldnt put it in the theater room , noone will be watching the movie tongue.gif

keep the pic's updated mate , would love to see it finished.

if your undecided on what fish to put in that monster tank , go with some Tanganyikan's cichlid's

for inspiration go down to one of our sponser AAA ( aquarium artisit australia ) on Ranford rd Southern river and check out the killer Tang tank as you walk through the front door

Cheers and good luck

Hi

Just a question on the tank how have you attached the acrylic together? I assume the bottom sides and front are mounted and then silicon but what about the top bracing.

Cheers Jason

top bracers are screwed on with stainless steel screws and silicone. from the top screwed down into the sides
