i find the best way to treat whitespot with corals in the tank is tri sulfa, it will stain your water but its already yellow so i wouldnt worry about it.
do as gavin said and adjust your cannisters down slowly so your rock and sand bed collonise as they have to.
what substraight are you using??? and this may seem like a stupid question but is there any wood in there???

I've been using tri sulfa, it's working pretty well. My tang still has white spot but it's calmed down a bit. The flame angel made a full recovery which is awesome.
I took one of the cannisters off already as I only added it to the tank recently so it hadn't had a chance to do much.
I've replaced a bit of the media with carbon and nitrate absorder stuff and am still looking for a phosphate absorbant that won't harm inverts.
The substraight is a bit of everything really. Mainly crushed coral. No wood btw.
Find a regal angelfish for me yet? tongue.gif

Are you aware of how hard regals can be???, do some reading up on them before you commit to buying as most dont last very long in tanks at all.
Id be putting one into a very well matured systemn to where some natural habits like grazing can occure to get you over the initial hump, just my opinion though

I would imagine they'd be similar to emporer angelfish in a lot of ways.
I've done a bit of research. Very finicky eaters apparently and will probably demolish by polyped corals.
Gonna get over this white spot stuff first and then see if I want to put the effort into keeping one.
I've got quite a lot of random algae growths and random things in my tank so graving wouldn't be a problem really.
Cheers for the heads up. smile.gif

imperators are alot more hardy than the regals, though your right about them nipping at things like zoathids and polyps and the fact that they dont eat. you never know though you may get the one out of ten that decides to do really well. another option is to search for someoine selling one from there own system, atleast you know its used to aquarium life
