The prices are what you pay according to how many bags you get group discount already factored into the price.

you can go down to ur local store at bunning and they sell them at $2.99 per kg so 9kg would only cost u $26.91 not $30 plus no waiting or hassle with postage.
they also do bulk buy as well.

Really? Surprised no one else has mentioned this.... Def the same stuff? What section in Bunnings?

The stuff I found at bunnings was Bonsai Sand, after mixing it with my aragonite I found that the stuff floats to the top and is too light in weight.
unless we are talking about two totally different products I wouldn't recommend it.
However you may as well try it for yourself, purchase a bag of the stuff and place it in buck.
It would be good to hear other peoples feedback.

1. I am getting a tank of 2750mm L X 420mm D X 800mm H (approx at this stage) - Would it be correct to say that I will need about 130Kg (14 bags of this)?
2. What is that cheaper alternative from Bunnings? Is it viable or should I just spend the money on the real stuff?
3. I assume it would need to be picked up somewhere in Perth? Where? And also likely to be when?
4. Lastly, as this is proper aquarium sand, would it need rinsing? As I'm not looking forward to washing 130kg of sand!

2 years ago, yes you do need to rinsing it, unless you like a milky white tank for a couple of weeks!
I had that problem cause i didnt rinse it enought!
You soon learn by your mistakes, I did!

2. it is not meant for aquariums
