gippes are much easier then swordtails and their related species like platys etc, the guppies seem to breed much more readily, have a much higher rate or producing fry and also grow quicker, which is needed in your case, its gonna take a good 8 months before they are big enough for you to feed the dovii

Second Bermont, used to breed guppies and mollies, both were regularly sold as Jaguar feeders.

Reckon you'd have similar luck as Dovii feeders

Breeding feeders is a waste of time and money IMO.
Keep them on good pellets that's all they need.

see when ive had my larger fish ive always supplimented feeder fish into their diet, 1 cause its sport and gives them something fun to do at feeding time, and 2 its also good for their diet, i mean hell its $1 a guppy or neon or cheaper even, goldfish work too and u can raise them in cold water, same as guppys

+1

Good quality pellets cannot really be substituded with feeders. Your fish will be happier and healthier with pellets.

Just buy live feeders if you want to give them live food. Cheaper and much easier.

Cheers

im  not trying to substitute there pellets with live feeders... i give them hikari pellets but they go nuts when i throw a fish or 2 in there . i would never substitute there pellets with the feeders just love how keen they are to hunt them and they seem they enjoy it...

Those fish you bought off me will hunt and eat anything they can fit in there mouth. If they can't eat it they will still try kill it. The male killed 3 Snooks twice its size.

Anyone who thinks Jags are Argo obviously haven't kept these fish.

Waste of time breeding feeders. If you want to feed live fish just buy a few feeders now and then.

Personally I steer clear from this these days. It only causes more aggression and once that male is 35-40cm you don't want to do anything to increase aggressive activity!

I've just recently purchased two Umbee. I had 6 decent size Congo tetras with them. 6-8cm. The 12cm male umbee slaughtered 4 of them. Ripping one straight in half. They are now on their own with a big pep and albino BN. Can't wait to see what these fish turn out like!!!!
