hehe... it is a nice debate...not much like a girl fight... laugh.gif

i just dont really want to be called a liar...and id like for the truth to be told, not a bunch of lies...

ive presented the facts and the pics to back up my statements...

so now i would like for terry or anyone to still sit there and try and tell me that the fish that was on sale was a "True Albino"...??

Firemouth, u saw the fish... which pic did it look like?

please terry, im not trying to be a smart A#s...but i dont want to really sit in the backbround while some poor soul has forked out good $ thinking they have them selves "x" when really they have "z"....that is not good business/ethics for so many reasons...and i know if it were me, i would like to know....

Please feel free to correct me if i am wrong...

cheers,
e.

(Terry)
We had a knifefish with pink eyes and it was a pinkish colour, sorry if it wasn't up to your standards Alex.
Who said Midland had the only African lungfish in the southern hemisphere? it actually comes from the southern hemisphere and there will probably be a few there. We have one with a price tag of $10000 it's probably not worth that but thats how much it will cost for us to net it out for you.

Sombody once said on here that some of my cats were the only ones in the southern hemisphere, you and I both know that that is crap. Maybe thats where the southern hemisphere comment came from.

I think it's a bit rude of you to ask if we advise people on the eventual size of their purchases, it is standard procedure and you are well aware that we often accept fish off people who can't look after them, the large helicopter cat on display was rescued from a kid who couldn't look after it.

Shops and hobbiests often get the names of fish wrong,I have had C.monoculus in my private collection for about 7 years and it annoys me too that aussies find it easier to say temensis. 25 years ago I had a 60cm Perrunichthys perruno and it makes me laugh when people claim they are Leiarius marmoratus, I suppose it's just human nature to claim that they have the rarer fish.
Cheers Terry

Terry - Everytime I have spoken to you about the Peacocks at midland you have refered to them as Temensis. Everytime. So please do not claim that it 'annoys' you when you are indeed guilty of it yourself. Why is it that when Midland display small peacock bass for sale I have never once seen them labeled as Cichla monoculus it's always temensis?

On the Perruno/Leiarius. I'm sure you will find that Leiarius longibarbis is the more common species, Perruno's are the rarer catfish. These fish are very hard to tell apart, even alot of catfish 'experts' have a rough time in doing so. You can hardly blame people mixing them up when they are such a similar fish! But I do agree, people will generally claim they have a rarer fish. Like claiming a Gold varient CK is an albino!

The pics posted perfectly show the difference in the two varients. Did the fish at midland sport spots?

On the helicopter catfish that was indeed mine. Claiming that i couldnt care for it is absolute GARBAGE. It is in a 8x3x2.5 the exact same size tank that i house my larger fish in. I traded that fish to Gary due to it being too agro biting smaller fish in half. If I couldnt find a suitable home for it I would have housed it myself. The fish was simply restricting what I could keep at the time. have you never sold a fish? ..............Edited by Terry........Please read the T&C.................................... I traded the fish for some spotteds gars.

I will be into midland within the next few days for a friendly chat mate as I'm not a fan of lengthy posts. See you then.

Alex

Dragonfish
I cannot see any reference to liar in the above posts just a group of mainly adults who disagree on something.
We bought the fish as an albino, the invoice calls it an albino, the person we bought it off is one of the most respected in the industry.
The person who bought it does not care what it is, he has purchased a beautiful fish which we will gladly buy back and sell for a hugh profit thanks to this thread.
Here is a link to another pic of an albino

I think the spotted albino is much nicer than the crappy plain one that you and Alex expected to see.
I have not lied, I did not call you a liar, I did not try to involve your friend. I don't think I have made a mistake, in fact the last time I was wrong was the time that I thought I had made a mistake.

It all makes sense now. Because it was sold as an Albino and the invoice said it was an albino it must be an albino.

The true albinos are spectacular animals as adults! a snow white knife fish! nothing crappy about that.

"True albino means the absence of *all* color, even in the eyes."

"When all pigments are missing (which makes the dead cell outgrowths like feathers, nails, hair, scales, etc., appear white; and the living cell structures, like skin and eyes appear pink to red because of blood), this is albinism. So albinos look, as most people would recognize it, white."

just a few definitions to help some understand what the meaning of true albinism is...

hehe, laugh.gif i dont really want to say much more about it...except for the fact that You were asked a question, and for what ever reason...your answer was incorrect and misleading...

cheers,
e.

Hi Clay
I'm not to sure what your talking about with the freespace, if you wan't more info use google

Save face? I never gave that side of things a thought, people will make up their own minds about this topic and what they think of me.

Ok I gave it some thought. I don't care.

After 3 days, is anything else happening out there?
Cheers Terry

Terry was only going on the facts he had at hand BEFORE the fish arrived. Since this topic is now not offering any new or relevant information and is now degerating into what I see as a personal attack on Terry, I will now lock this post.

If you have any further questions on this matter feel free to PM me.
