Hi guys,

I have been keeping fish on and off since I was 5 years old and have only recently found my passion for keeping, breeding and raising tropical fish. I figure that I owe you lot something for all of the advice you guys have given me since joining the forum - So here it is, my fish room.

My fish room is nearing completion so I thought I'd do a photo journal of both the room itself and the inhabitants of each tank.

Currently the room is still a mess and I am yet to fill some of the last tanks but bear with me until I've gotten it tidy enough to photograph and feel free to give me tips as to how I can do things better.

So far I have the following tanks:

1. 4ft two tier
2. 3ft two tier
3. 3ft two tier
4. 2ft two tier
5. 4x2 two tier
6. 40cm cube x2 (Putting both on one stand and plumbing them to a sump).

So far I have the following livestock:
1. Colony of 5 Long fin Albino bristlenose.
2. Colony of Peppermints (4 mature and 11 sub adults)
3. Pair of shortfin calico bristlenose.
4. Pair of shortfin Albino bristlenose.
5. Four young L397s (Will have 8 when Holmzy has more)
6. Colony of 10 or so Electric Yellows.
7. Colony of Brichardi Kiku.
8. Colony of N. Leleupi.
9.Had 4 Rio Branco Geophagus to breed but am down to 2 due to a bastard of a dom male.

What I am yet to buy (If you have any of the following for sale, let me know):

1.40L/pm Air pump
2. Additional sponges to run every tank.
3. A roll of the softer type of air line.
4. Egg tumblers.
5. A small electric heater to keep temps up in winter.

My main plan is to breed and sell L numbers until I can afford a wider variety of L number plecos, and vice versa with tanganyikans and high quality africans.

Any advice is much appareciated.

Awesome Jack!

Keep us updated. We could do with some more shell dwellers around Perth!

Sounds like a great set up, I'm sure missing mine :(
Some awesome fish as well.

Get some pics up ;)

If you ask Pacco at Vebas he might be able to help out with all the items you need.

Will get some pics up as soon as I have swept up the odd thousand or so styrofoam balls that came loose when I was cutting syrofoam for beneath the tank. Still need to paint a couple of the tanks backs black/get soem laminated black paper for backgrounds.

Thanks

There are some nice Plecos that you could breed that don't cost TOO much, like L66, L201, Pep Bns and L134s.

It'd be even better if this angry male geo rio branco would stop killing his tank mates.
Filling up another 3ft as I speak, thinking of what african cichlid I should put in it. Any suggestions?

Thanks

You guys think I'm lucky for having tanks in the house - I'm sure the fact that I am living at home still will cure all of your envy lol.

Tried uploading some shots of my fish but the uploader (both basic and advanced) is playing up as always, may have to wait until I get my laptop back from being repaired until I get more pics up. Will give it one last go on my tablet first.

Thanks

Milk it for what you can! I left home at 17 with bugger all cash and I moved interstate... BAD move.. Stay at home as long as you can and save your cash :)

If you have a FB account just upload the pics to there and then copy & paste into your thread.

Thats what I have to do. There will be someone working on it in the near future :)
