Hi all, shifted all the ornaments over the weekend to centralise them. I now have heaps more room on the tank sides and it seems my gravel has evaporated or something as shallow in spots.

Looking for something clay based I think that can be mixed with gravel, lasts forever and ok with loaches.

Looking at seachem fluorite (red) or maybe eco-complete?

I think I'll add about 10 kilos so gets too expensive for API laterite gravel (couple of kilos in tank somewhere).

Tank is co2 injected, dry ferts dosing, etc.

If you've already got everything in, I would just add more of the same gravel and use fertiliser tablets near the base of the roots
Over time, the detritus build up will provide nutrients for your plants. No need to buy fancy soils

It's kind of all in but big gaps in planted areas where the ornaments were and where I made a mess. Now I have the plane sitting on three fake rocks and wood coming out the sides to hide the base of the plane.

So much easier to reach plants. Replanted some but it looks sparse.

Gravel sounds convenient though :)

Tots agree with Jason. Add gravel and tabs.
