Cheers guys this is definately going to be a fun project smile.gif

So over the weekend I moved my frontys over into the tank with the weir, I'm thinking it's better to use the other tank for the occy and just put in some plumbing that's more appropriate:) I'll have more pics to come for you soon smile.gif

So as some of you all ready know I'm currently in hospital awaiting surgery so it's taking a little longer than I'd hope but it's basically ready to go for Larry the octopus smile.gif Im using the same sump from the reef tank and the 4x2x1.5 with some rubble and live rock, I have a huge bucket of shells and the like to go it as well. The wave makers are coming out and I'll just run some low flow pumps instead.... Im hanging to get the hell out of this hospital so I can go and get him this week smile.gif I'm hoping Friday smile.gif

Just had a chat with my LFS and he's all ready to come home on Friday smile.gif I can't wait!!

That looks like a fun project. Best of luck mate. I'm sure the occy won't let you down, amazing animals. Only downside is the lifespan. Let me know how you get on, something I have to try myself (on a large scale).

All the best with the surgery too.

The width between there eyes determines how small a hole they can get through, he's in the tank now getting settled and sorted, when I can get some pics I'll start putting them up, if you wanna come have a look PM me and pop in smile.gif

I would like to introduce you all to "Leisure Suit Larry" the red reef octopus smile.gif

He's getting settled in at the moment and getting used to his surroundings, I'll give him a feed tomorrow afternoon and see if wants to venture out a little more. smile.gif

Nice mate - I won't show this pic to my greek skipper he'll be round to bbq him up quick smart!

Probably wouldn't hurt grabbin a handful of live mussels every now and then just so he can have a snack whenever he feels the urge to (rather than go walkies looking for something special). Also he'll use the shells to build up a den which will make him feel more at home. Just like a true lounge lizzard!

I think that is wrong, Its the size of their beak. The beak is the only hard part in them. You will see it when it feeds up on the glass, be ready with a tape measure smile.gif

Also, keep the room lights dim, nothing worse then inking the tank tongue.gif

Yeah you could be right Niz i'll do a bit more research smile.gif I also have a big bag of carbon on hand in case of inking....

Hes about the size of a dinner plate when hes stretched out and when he swims around the tank in stealth mode is around 25cm long, he has been getting NW coral prawns and whitebait at the LFS he came from so I will continue with this diet for now as well as taking McGee's advice and throwing in some mussels. Ive also been collecting rock crabs for food and have live and frozen ones.... I will use the live ones to try and teach him to open a jar smile.gif

heres a few more pics now hes out and about..... i threw in a few YT and hes having fun trying to nail them......
