boyanup river is crawling with them, i would think that any freshwater river with a sandy bank would have them.
they are normally poking out or wait for air bubbles just dont get mixed up with the air bubbles from marron biggrin.gif

cheers jess.

would these be ok in a tank with other fish
or would they breed to much
because going by that article they sound like an interesting addition to a tank

I have them at Midland Pet, Have had one in with the Guppies for months, I was told if they die they can set the tank off, But I have had 2 die in another tank and no probs at all.
Very interesting to watch when they have their tongue out & move about.

Not sure, I don't actually intend to eat them... Apparently they don't taste as good as the saltwater ones...

How would they go in higher temps? What about 28-29degC?

good use of the old shell! if you had a couple of apple snails handy tho, you could have made this entertaining character

i didnt notice mine was dead for awhile because he was burried, thats why he stunk.
i had some big aknown snail came on a plant, my cichlids took every chance to lay into him so eventually they bit his eyes of... he lived for another year!
but then the block head managed to get into his shell and rip him up, so i have a big snail shell was thinking of using it as a cabinet nob smile.gif
