Ok so I should add lots of air, and maybe a heater on 28c ?

Its strange, only the bristlnose get effected. They'r in a tank with yellows but theyr fine.

Wat about salt? should I add any? Iv got the sea salt stuff

Also wen they peppermints died, they had a clear film all over their body... like a fungus thing

I done the water change 2 days ago, since then they'v been dying alot more rapidly (albinos).

Has to be water quality or a poison

Aerate
temp invcrease to 28 - 30
salt at 1tbsp to 10G initially (NOT 1tbsp per G)
melafix
daily water changes - 30% (replace lost salt)

Anti fungal if you think fungus present - if medicating then remove charcoal from filter.

HIT IT HARD and look at it this way.... whatever you do can only help.

Good luck

The clear film may just be secondary sign to an unhealthy fish (or even post mortem changes)...it would be unusual for a fungus to attack the entire fish at the same time.

Be very carefull useing salt with cats, if you must use it just give them a quick bath.
I have seen these symptoms when suckermouth cats are placed in new aquariums under 8 weeks old. If you have well aged aquariums try moving them, the older the better.

You should be safe at 1tbsp to 10G - you could even dilute it more to be on the safe side.

A quick dip in a salt bath would, IME, be very stressfulfor the fish and potentially expedite fatalities.

Well theres about 2 left, but I have to cure this incase it spreads to the yellows, they are looking itchy and agitated. I added 2 and a 1/2 tbsp (1 per 40L and tank is 90L) with some of the green multi cure stuff, heater on 28. Hope it all goes alright.

I dont really want to change the water incase I infect the hose.

Thanks for the help!

I had a similar problem not long ago. what i did is cover the whole tank so it is pitch black. Turn the heater to 30 degrees. Add the green multi sure stuff (like you have done.) Do a 50% water change and add a small amount of salt.

I agree with Mike (Noddy), about the only thing we can be sure of is that it is NOT a fungal infection.

Does seem to have occurred to a number of people though, perhaps if those who have been affected could post there information in the format Andrea has outlined at the top of this forum, we can attempt to find a common thread.

Looking towards a solution

Cheers
