Been playing around with the settings on this point and pray camera. Can't get an in focus clear shot. So this is the best I can do for now.
Kept the rock work pretty sparse as most of the fish I have chosen/getting prefer the open water. Not many mbuna. The big flat rock in the middle is deceptively heavy. Weighs a tonne, just about killed myself putting it in the tank. Not the sort of thing i'd try doing alone again!

I can't wait to see the set up when the fish are all grown up.

This was the same tank last time it was set up for malawis many years ago. I rocked it up a lot more due to their being alot of mbuna. Can't really decide if i like the looks of lots of rocks or fewer.
My old A christyi most of the young ones available these days come from my old guys.

Nice fish though, and I love your substrate as well.

I wasn't overly happy with the rockwork either. It has been changed. Will get a pic of the new rock work sometime over the next couple days.
The substrate is just 00 grade araganite. Good stuff, because all the fish crap just sits on top making it easy to siphon out. The way the powerheads are set up it all accumulates in one area of the tank, as you can see in some of the pics.
Added some Lombardi's and Cynotilapia sp 'lions cove'

Cheers mate. The cheweres are the ones I got from midland, and so are a couple of the champsos. Pretty big group of about 12 or so now.
Cheers
Jack.
Yeah they are. The photos do them no justice. They are all starting to speck up now.

Working on it. My family owns a large earth moving company so I've gone and dug up some great bits of limestone, so aquascape will be changing when i muster up a mate to give me a hand and some time.
Few more pics.
Electric yellow
Phenochilus 'tanzania'
spilos - one of the hardest fish to get a pic of.
Afra 'lion' - part of his dorsal is missing from a fight with one of the elongatus 'chewere'. Nasty fish this guy.
female lombardoi
