So now I've got myself a little QLD Saratoga Leichardti I'm going to take regular pics and update on a monthly basis.
I'm super excited to have one of these, I've never kept them before so should be good

So pic 1, this is a preemptive January pic, 5cm, eating well on NLS brine shrimp and hikari

The drovers fish monger sells Antarctic silver fish frozen into a block the size of a brick.
They are roughly 10-30mm long and very skinny and white,,, similar to white bait type flesh.
It's soft and breaks apart easy.
I use to feed Malawi predators once a week with these.

A hack saw will allow you to cut 2cm blocks at a time to defrost......

One brick would see your fish grow to the size where it would start to need bigger size foods.

That's if your not going to pursue the "pellets only" thing in the long term, that is.

I'm definately down with the big block of food, I don't think it will fit in my freezer though lol

Saw it up into Muslie bar size planks,,,,, then fill in the vacant voids of your freezer space,,,, Hah ha lol.

Here's February's pic getting bigger, grown about 1.5cm this month, feeding really well on a good variety of fresh and pellet foods.

The bloody shrimp have survived and thrived though so have become a natural food source, can hear the jack hunting them at night time
