no, I haven't moved house yet... long story... soon, maybe July now.
anyway I had one 6x2x2 left over from my sell-off which I have my Chimbas in as a display tank. I am planning to take that tank with me as a display tank OR maybe sell it and buy a mate's 1metre cube, ie 1mx1mx1m cause it will fit nicely in the house - yeah the back door will let it in LOL

so what would you put in it?
I have been think a small colony of Tropheus and a bunch of Gobies with a surf zone at the top (pending noise levels)

G'day Steve

Id probably go a furcifer/foai species, small colony. Then some Cyprichromis to hang around mid water and surface. Alternatively, some Xenotilapia spilopterus or ochrogenys or a small colony of Enantiopus melanogenys if you can track them down. Again with some Cyprichromis or Paracyprichromis.

Cheers
Jordan

I recon either you need layering of fish or fish that will take up all layers. 1m is pretty damn high so youd'd want to make sure the fish take use of it.

Normally i probably would go with malawians of some kind but although the water volume is a very nice 1000L, the length just isnt the best for huge haps :p .

I recon a huge amount of tropheus in it would look really cool (Dont know about territory stuff but considering the water volume the density should appear high). Otherwise lots of leptos in the top, and then some sand dwellers at the bottom so shellies or xenos or something similar. Oh and a pillar of rocks could look cool. Or maybe there could be a fully functioning rock wall in the back with lots of rock dwellers, perhaps calvus, or julies.

Very interesting shape tank though :p What thickness glass is it?

If you are going to put tropheus maybe you can add leptosomas to occupy the top parts.

Hey Steve.
Sounds like an interesting tank, personally i would go SA's.

A few discus, rainow fish, rams, get one nice piece of wood that will go up the center, and attach plants to it.....?

Or i would go with the tropheus and gobies, and make the surf zone but if you do i would have to see it cause gobies are my fav fishy!

Hi Steve,

That would be a great tank! I think you are on the right track with a small colony of Tropheus. God..how could you leave them out. As mentioned by a lot of other people I would add some nice Leptos and maybe even some Nigripinnis. If possible some Eretmodus Cyanosticus would be nice, especially if you are planning to have quite turbulent water. Perhaps some fry from Bengaboy!! (latest selling point ive seen) Ive heard they are a bit of alright.

Any way you go, such a tank will look spectacular. Good luck! (BTW you know well it never ends at one tank! :rollin

a heap of rocks in the center and a heap of julidochromis, darting between the rocks, with a few calvus or compressiceps :good

the tank is also quite high vertically so maybe go for some altums or angelfish with a big tree stump in the middle
