PCS Committee is proud to present for the November general meeting: on Tuesday November the 5th at 8PM
Ollie from Aquotix - Live and Unscripted!
Yeah that's right! Ollie's coming down to Rotary Hall South Perth to guide a discussion on recirculatory systems at the commercial scale. Now you may think this has no relevance to the one or two tanks you have at home, but Ollie assures us there are lots of considerations and implications that apply to all fish tank systems. So come and hear how the guys who make a living from this, set up and maintain their systems.
Topics covered include:
Aquarium size for use
Separation/Dividers
Hole & Strainer size & placement
Flow calculation
Sump volume calculation
Heating
UV Use & Fallacies
Lighting safety
Importance of aeration
Filtration - Mech & Biological
Water quality checking & Importance
Medicating
Food/feeding
Water Changing
Water Types in Water Changing
Automation
plumbing principles
stocking rates
He will also be taking questions from those attending. If there is anything at all you need to know about in relation to aquariums, this is your night!
As usual, the PCS raffle will be operating, with the chance to grab some nice prizes! Always some nice loot on the raffle table!
The show table competition will be on, with all entrants winning prizes. If you need to book a PCS tank for your fish, then PM Aquacouple or bring that as well.
The library will be open with hundreds of books, magazines, and multimedia available for loan.
There will be a members door prize, and for those that don't have time for dinner beforehand, the bbq will be cranking. Less than $5 for a snag in a roll and can of soft drink - hard to find cheaper unless you do it yourself at home!

So come on down, the old and new members, and we will see you there!
