Hi all
Just bought a marine tank as I want to get back into fish
6x2x2 with sump
Im moving it this weekend has live rock in it but current owners went away a its turned green but water was being turned over looks like water level dropped below overflow so pump is stuffed
The skimmer wasnt working as no flow needs dam good clean
Advise about the live rock survival and cleaning would be appreciated denis looks like he can pump out and refill this weekend after moving I know a fair bit keep marine for couple years previously but bit rusty
Cheers for your help

Hi Steve
Without having seen the set up or anything like that. But by the sounds of it, the set up is incredibly neglected.
Personally, I would nuke all the live rock and start over. There are lost of different ways to do it with acids, sun and bleach etc. I reckon the reward of starting with the seeded rock would be far outweighed with all the nasty algae pests that would likely come with the rock.
Thanks,

Good stuff. Would have probably been more work up front, but will save you down the track.
Whack some pics up when you get a chance.
