After seeing Kyle (Firemouth_32) being challenged with his planted tank i thought it was time for me to take up the challenge to. I was after a densely planted tank to house discus in so thats what im doing. Here are the first of a series of photos of my tank, as i will update it when something new happens

So far the currents inhabitants are:
1 Red Melon Discus
1 Blue Diamond Discus
2 Peppermints
and bout 50 neon tetras

Plants include:
Tonina
Panama Crypt
Amazon Swords
Ambulia
Varicated Rush
Water Sprite
Glosso

Hope you like it and let me know what you think i can do to improve it.
Thanks
Wayde

Thanks keleherr, to answer your questions - the subrate is Eco-Complete. I purchased the Tonina from Aquotix and the Panama Crypts from AAA. I might change the background depends on what i think will look good when its all planted up.

Cheers

Hey Wade
How much was the Tonina?...its a nice looking plant. My understanding is that it likes soft acidic water with plenty of light, if you can provide that then it should grow well for you.

With your glosso...cut the bunch up into individual runners and plant about 2 cm apart...if you plant it like the way you have it just wont carpet your substrate very effectively.

Good luck. Youve started with some difficult and finicking plants there.

Thanks for your helpful advice Mike, the Tonina cost $25. I didnt know much about Glosso but was told that it is a carpetting plant. I will follow your advice and serperate them.

Well with some good advice i hope i can manage these plants well

Thanks
Wayde
