After selling all of my discus we started stripping down and redoing the 7ft because the backing was breaking down and my tank was overrun with blackbeard algae.

Although the water quality was still very good the tank looked terrible and we decided to redo it from scratch !

So thought id share some pics of the tank before we started and where we are currently at.

Here are some shots of the tank before we starting emptying it out.

Ok so now after removing and transfering 78 corys out of there this is the tank drained.

Now we have cleaned out the substrate and removed the old backing.

The new backing we got from Krystal @ Aquotix ! Thanks Krystal smile.gifsmile.gif

And now we have cut, fit and siliconed the new backing in.

Ok so tommorow night the filters and substrate will be cleaned and put back in then hopefully fill the tank up Sunday.

Once done we are putting 3 gibbys into it and some clown loaches and will decide what else will go in to it again once its been run back in.

Will update some more over the weekend.

Cheers smile.gif

Gidday Craig, looking good. Usually not a fan of the pre made backings but I can see possibilities with that one. Looking forward to following the progression.

Nice one Craig.

If you're considering giving geos a try (you should be), I can help you out with some orange heads.

I reckon some blue eyes would go great tongue.gif

I reckon some of those Veija melanurus we have at work would go swell with some Parrot Cichlids and Robertsoni to boot.

Looks good Craig, next time you might need to add a few more thousand blue eyes into that tank to make it look like there's something in there tongue.gif

Seriously looks pretty good, can't wait to see what fish you put in there.

Hahahaha !

Seriously i still have no idea what will be going in this tank and have been battling out with my wife (and Krystal,Andrea,Nikki,Saj,Az ugh the list goes on lol)

Atm it will be:

1 gibby @ approx 50cm
2 albino gibbys @ 12cm
9 clown loaches @ 10cm

Maybe some catfish of some sort down the track once the gibbys and loaches have cycled the tank smile.gif

Cheers
Craig
