Hi
I totally agree that the cabinets are overpriced, I have thought about trying to make a DIY cabinet. But prices for wood are going to cost more than $50. Keep us updated on how you go and how much everything costs in the end ;) . What size cabinet are you making? Check this cabinet/canopy looks real nice.

just a couple of things to consider in DIY

1 make sure u cost all the goods in like nails, screws joints etc
2- make sure its a solid unit
3- make sure u factor labour cost

4- and most important
You have the skills to pull it off ;)

I for one would love to DIY bu i have nor the time or skill :rollin

I am a @#%$ handy man !!!:o
So when considering DIY consider all the above NOT JUST COST OF wood
You will find that the actuall cost of DIY is not as cheep as u first thought :good

My only choice is to get best price for the unit i want
Good luck and be good to see pics :good

Huh!?!?! Labour costs of a 15 yo.
I don't think oppertunity cost principals would apply to this DIY.
