Geelong have timed their run beautifully again. Scotty had even the most ardent of fans doubting once again, after playing dead until about the same time last year. We beat the faves throughout last year twice (Collingwood). And this year we have done the same to Hawthorn. But unless Hawthorn lose to Collingwood on Friday and then keep winning, they can't meet us in the Grandy. The Hawks will be very difficult to beat. And the Dockers, which is hard to believe given they are a WA team, have flown under the radar. ("Nic Nat" makes the front page of "The Rag" with a handfull of freaking hailstones!!!) They have won 8 out of 9 and are leading the competition in some telling stats. Saturday night is going to be a lot closer than people think. McFarlane is a HUGE loss. Probably the best matchup in the comp for Hawkins in terms of his strength and ability to follow up. That could be the difference. Geelong have the midfield depth to cover Johnson.
My tips
Hawthorn (Just)
Geelong (Just)
Eagles (Easily and get flogged the following week in the usual disparity between home and away performances.)
Adelaide (Could get into the Grandy on two home wins and be easybeats.)
Go the Cats!!

hawkins is far too big and strong for any fullback in the comp... and impossible to spoil on a quick lead... hes so friggin big you cant get around him to spoil !!!!
geelong have far too much finals experience and in big games that what makes all the difference....
freo dont have enough discipline in the backline to withstand geelongs forward pressure....
dont imagine the game will be too free flowing with both teams playing spares in defence.... making it relatively low scoring game...
