Just had a thougt too... Best learner bike i ever rode was my mates Suzuki Across. Has internal helmet storage too which is a plus. Handles well and is pretty quick.

Nice! I know from previous conversations youve mentioned what this is but i cant remember. I have an R6 which im gonna be moving on towards the end of the year/early next year for something for like a what you have. The street fighter look is awesome without being so painful on my shoulder. Theyre just as light as the RR's but not so aggressive in the seating position and manouvre just as well on the roads. Would love a street triple but the $ dont quite go that far

Well after many many years of wanting one, I finally pulled my finger out and went and bought one.

Yes braking was taken care of by drums on the back and a SINGLE piston caliper and single rotor on the front.  Much fun was had on that bike. Essentially it doesn't matter what your first bike is. What matters is how much you ride and getting your skills up there. I've had plenty of good memories from that bike some of which I'll treasure until the day I die.

NICE!!!!!

I like the gear selector/lever on that bike, I have to get mine adjusted as my bloody "McDonald" sized foot has trouble going under the lever.

 

I wasn't "Allowed" to have a sports bike as I was told I would be stupid on it
It felt pretty good getting back on a bike after 20+ years of not being on one. And thought I would forget or be not confident, but not at all. Jumped on and away I went no probs. Brand new bike so I have to take it easy anyways.

I'll get some practice in and a couple of lessons to keep the government happy and then go for my license. Ive been told to use the trainers bike for the test as they are heaps better to use a slow speeds.

And the assessors are a bit easier on you when you rock up with a trainer I would recommend booking your test now as there is a loooooooooooooooong wait

Who can advise me of what the testers are looking for?
E stop, cornering etc

What speed is the e stop? Is it a 12mtr stop?

Any help is greatly appreciated

tell them you're related to the chair sniffer then you shouldn't have to wait too long

U-turns/O-turns: they are looking for good clutch control as well as overall slow manoeuvring not putting your foot down they want to see overall control  
 
E-Stops: 12m dry 15m wet no locking up either front or back speed is 50km (but if you do it in north bridge don't get caught out speeding because its 40km there) 
 
General riding: Correct road position making sure you are in the correct wheel track not stopping in the oil slick doing all your head checks as well (head checks are super important) if unsure do a head check lol, overall confidence in riding on the road as well
 
I did my test in city west it was really good and the assessor was great.

E-stops: Is it braking without going down in gears or you use them as well as brakes?

 

Correct road position: On the right hand side so drivers in front of you can see you in their side mirror?
