I found it after I purchased the lifeguard, but your suggestion is a good one.

i lost 9 f1 7 bars the other weekend when it was 44 sat and 44 sun... same days as perth had 43 sat and 43 Sun...

but the power went off for 3 hours ... i chucked in my battery operated air pump but that didnt save them either ... we have a generator now lol

 

mine were only about 4-6cm...

Had a few tanks but sold pretty much everything but the 4 2 2 after that loss.

A remote thermostat is a top idea, i recommend them for any heater. Set them at your max temp & it will cut the power. Sadly ones with waterproof probes getting a bit hard to find

Id be interested in seeing how hot frontosa can go with lots of air in the tank.
But im not willing to try it with my money haha
