If the police catch this guy, yes he will be charged etc! If he is found guilty You will still then have to present these findings to a civil court to recover your payments!!! I'm trying to let you guys know your barking up the wrong tree, YOU WILL NOT GET A CENT FROM CRIMINAL CHARGEs!!!!! The police will seek judgement for the crime.
You need to see a lawyer, seek proceed with vocal proceedings, he will be issued with a court summons, if he doesn't show then the judgement will be awarded to you, then he will be ordered to pay, if he doesn't pay then and Only then will the court sent the case to the sheriff who will again try and recoup costs, failing this he will be issued with a sezuire notice, They will issue this, he will own nothing and will apply to pay the debt either by community work or time served. Failing all that a arrest Warent will be issued for breaching a court order. Then it becomes criminal


Just to clarify this Neil, I agree fully your claim. I feel for you and you deserve your money back! All I am trying to point out is that some of the things you are saying/doing aren't going to help you in anyway.
Lodge a civil claim with the court. Then proceed from there.
If your tracking someone don't tell the world as the legal cost to defend yourself will far out way the $150 you are owed.
I would recommend getting a stat dec from as many people that have been ripped off as possible, submit it as one. Amounts under $10,000 are dealt with in a very different way through the court system.
If everyone presents as one case you will have a much better chance
