Couple of questions:
I've heard the ammo spike isnt as big an issue as the other ADA soils... true or false?
Also what does Malaya do to your kH/pH? (I guess it depends on ammount used Vs water volume too).
Cheers.

Hi mate
I have only used ADA Malaya once about 5 years ago.
I agree with your statement of it not having the ammonia spike that Amazonia is know for.
I was happy using it although I do prefer the darker colour of the Amazonia.
Cant remember what it did with my water chemistry sorry, I imagine it wasn't overly drastic.

If you have high pH water, it will rapidly neutralize the soils ability to lower the aquariums pH. If you are using with RO or rainwater, its ability to soften water is more long term.
But yes, it will lower pH for first few water changes.

Cool, so do a few water changes first you reckon?

Yea cool. If you are not worried about changing pH, then awesome. Water change as required and enjoy.
