Last year I closed down my fish room as we were starting to build a house, After many months of waiting and now some more stuffing around our house hasnt started yet.
So I took the opportunity to start my fish room/ shed up again.
I started today thinking it would be an easy job, but as I got further into it I decided to change things around a bit. And a job that I was hoping to take 2hrs, took 6hrs.
And I still havent finished yet.

This is how it all started nearly 3yrs ago

And what I finished with today:

A few things more to do, then add water & fish wink.gif
While I was moving everything around today I came across a MASSIVE ant nest. It stunk. I sprayed with fly spray but would prefer more of a permanent fix, anyone know of something I can put in the shed without worrying about poisoned ants getting into the tanks?

Cheers
Az

Hi there,

Diatomaceous earth. I have not used it myself but apparently you can get food grade ones.

If you wish to read more,

Generally the recommendations from the above forum will be safe for fishes, as the forum focus on Aquaponics, fishes that ultimately become human food...

amdro for ants, its one of the only things that kills the queen.
with out the queen the colonmy will disolve pretty quick - kill the head and the body will die
