Though I would share a few pic's of my tanks , designed on the plans before i built my house.

plan was to have two "living pictures" hanging from my wall separating my dining/living room from my games room.

two bare tanks installed on purpose built wall and return

850L future home of some lucky Tanganyikans

because the tanks have to be see through with no visable accessories i hand built the "side grounds"

850L up and running

love the dodgy lighting

cornice cut away and frame fitted

frame fitted and centre supports added

moisture resistant board screwed in place and cornice cut and bogged in

is starting to take shape

getting closer to the picture in my heade.

i've bought 3 metal halides for some good lighting

need to find a talented picture frame maker to finish this side , then its other side and the cabinetry.

will keep you update.

Cheers

Looking really cool there Steve! Were you not worried about fumes etc when setting up the tanks before doing the top part?

nice steve
that is something that i want to do when i build my next house...

i'm planning on getting waste pipes pre-layed into the slab, and water pipes chased into the wall as the house is getting build...
that will then save dragging in hoses for water changes...

Steve the tanks look great, really great idea especially where you have them. I love the idea of been able to see through the tank as a room divider as opposed to just your normal tank in the wall.

I've just recently finished some work on a house in Marmion where they are having a tank in the master bedroom which can be seen from lower levels, but the filtration will be in the garage at the other end of the house, all the plumbing was layed in the slab. Gonna look great.
You could try something like that Jezza ^^

I believe AAA are doing that one.

not really Tim , im just about to start painting my whole house the week after next ( including the fish wall ) and as long as none falls in the tank and all the windows n doors are open , i cant see there being a problem.

the work just completed was almost odourless , i was more worried about the fish getting spooked , they were using a gas charged nail gun and my dogs were not too happy.

thanks for all the comments guy's , im off to bunnings to by some ceiling white so i can paint and sand this arvo.

Tom = Tanganyikan's - check other posts in photo gallery for pics

not much to see on the other side mate , it's all open.

would like to find a talented cabinet maker to help me finish the games room side will have doors below and doors above , will end up using the same material that was used in my kitchen , actually i'll probably put in a few more cupboards in my kitchen at the same time.

Cheers
