Cobby
I just made some for my end panels of my 8x3x2.5 and a big rock for the middle of my tank.
Before you go any further, have you thought about how are you going to get a 7x2x2 non flexible background into a tank with straps along the top??.
may pay to cut it up and make it in sections, just a thought cause i had the same issue

yeah its all over 50mm poly and expanding foam, the same you used biggrin.gif
the rock has a terracotta pot inside it, so its basically hollow but i left a hole in the top for the water to get down inside so the upwards preasure of a 2 foot airbubble wouldnt rip it off the bottem, i plan to silicon it on first so my catties and gigas dont knock it around

My rock about 10kg as opposed to say 75 if it were real
the side pieces about 5kg each.
i was thinking of doing up one for a marine tank soon, one of my clients has just bought a cowfish and ive just realised why i loved these little guys once again.

I love it!
I really want to have a go but worried i'll just make a big mess of it! :?
May be one day one of you could make a video of how its done to get a better idea of the whole process, ive read cobbys instructions but nothing beats actually seeing it done in real life.
Might have to give it a crack in the mean time trial and error i suppose.

Yer the wood is the hard bit biggrin.gif

Have to get me brushes out biggrin.gif

But im confedient it will work out biggrin.gif

Spoke to Craig and we agreed not to go grey like the picture but more brown like drift wood biggrin.gif

At the moment it looks crap in the photos but im taking them through the door of the shed and this is just a base coat 8O

i will drag it out of the shed tomorow stand it up and get a better pic of it biggrin.gif

But it is by no means finished yet biggrin.gif

Regards Cobby
