Have you ever kept a flowerhorn? I've kept them last year while I was in Vietnam for 6mths. They are one of the best fish to keep if you want an aggressive fish! I doubt there's a freshwater fish that can compete with them in the aggression area! Apart from piranhas!
Not sure about being legal in NSW though, but I saw some for sale when I was in Melbourne earlier in the year..

there are plenty more fish that would take down a flower siize for size and there are heaps around you just have to look for them, i know a guy that has 7 or more i cant remeber exactly how many, but they are just a hybrid of quite a few different fish

You want to know how to "tease" them and make their humps get bigger over time?? Attach a small mirror outside their tank every so often and watch them color up and "fight" the mirror! LOL!
Similiar to Betta fish..
Cheers!

Yep, flowerhorns are great fish! You can also hand-feed them too...bits of raw beef (only small quantity) once a week will be great for their colours and "hump" development! I hope the info helps!
