having the tanks that full, in the event of a power outage, wheres the water meant to go that drains down from the top 2 tanks?

pelvicachromis are doing good lots of dancing but no babies yet.
only about 1cm of water drains down when the power goes out... the drainage is a straight 30mm pvc pipe, so there is only a few mm of water above the top of the pipe. the only problem was the pump line acting as a siphon... i just drilled a few holes into the pipe at water level so whatever is in the hose drains back down, the holes break the siphon. first thing i did when i set this up was stage a power blackout to see what would happen

yeah its amazing how much water comes out of tiered setups, my 3 tier x 6 foot with 6 x 3foot tanks has so much water drain back its crazy, i have installed an overflow in my sump to outside to combat this

that first blackout test on the new carpet was a pretty nail biting moment hahah
