Hey,

Here is my new marine tank and pond build journal, its been 2 years in the making with the pipe work put under the slab to connect with a filter room out side the House, when the house was first built.

The filter room in the slab


The filter room once the house is built, where the sump and chiller will go for the marine tank and also the filter for the pond with a 36w UV.



The pipes coming out of the slab and the viewing window from our kitchen

And the Pond being filled (roughly 30,000L)

Cable Tieing the Liverock into poistion and to hide the pipes

and still to come, photos of the cabinetry and more livestock

And now the best bit; we sit back and watch it while knocking back a stubby or 6

I can add more photos’ of the pond if people are interested; it now has a bridge and lovely lights.

Here are another Couple of quick snaps of the tank, It doesnt have the cabinetry around it yet so one side does look a bit "iffy" but it will get there in time

Theres nothing better than knocking back a midi or 3 while listening to the trickling water





The bridge also has blue LED's in it to lead you across after drinking the midis


and another little creater that lives in there (one of about 20)

A quick update on progress,

We have added a couple new fish and corals and here are some snaps of them:







Yellow Tangs and fusilier damsels


Left side with some corals


Rics and morphs (Look much better in real life there colours have washed out in these images)


Clownfish in there anemone


Banggai cardinal pair, Which after being in the tank only 1 weel already have a mouth full of babies.

Probably isnt shell, most likely dead skeleton of a coral such as Montipora capricornus... A few stores get it in, it's good for making those shelves amongst the rock work.

sorry didnt see your post untill just than when kuhni replyed.

The shell shape is just a peice of very large flat live rock that we picked up from aquarium artists.

Amazing foresight - the tank and the pond, I can really appreciate the planning and preparation you would of had to do.

I love your aquascaping, I am about to set up my marine tank and (if you don't mind) I might copy on a much smaller scale.

And yes, I too am a little envious (OK, alot!).

The bangaii cardinals have finally spat out there babies, you can see one in this picture



And heres some shots of the tank as it currently is, with all the corals starting to grow and corraline algea already starting to make it self at home in the tank,
