Just wondering if anyone had any losses with the last power black outs. Has anyone considered using UPS on the power supply to their essentials such as pumps/filters. I believe they can be as low as $100 and last approx 8 hrs.

Just an idea.

UPS with computers I know cost $100 + and they only last about 4-10mins at about 150watts. Not sure about how much watts pump etc takes

also another important point is to ease back on your feedings

Feeding consumes most of your oxygen, as the fish are using the oxygen to digest the food, followed by the bacteria which will need to consume more oxygen to consume the ammonia and subsequent nitrite. Plus the higher the waters temp, the lower it's ability to hold oxygen

I'd like to know what the max temp most peoples tanks got up to? Mine are out in my shed and it's only slightly insulated, so when i got home last night most were hovering between the 32-34 degrees mark on the thermometer, but all were fine... My tanks are probably under stocked (being breeding tanks), over filtered and all have air stones. I didn't do anything to prepare them for the heat, they were still 29 degrees this morning... And luckily io didn't get any blackouts...
