I just do mine in an upturned 2lt Coke bottle in the fishroom - works well and I harvest for about 3 days per bottle.
The bottle is about 90% full of clean tank water, to that I add 2 teaspoons of rock salt and 1 teaspoon of eggs.
I have the bottle hanging with a coathanger thingy off my rack and have an airline (with adjuster) connected to the lid of the bottle which is now upside down. Air is adjusted so that all the eggs are constantly aggitated. To harvest, I turn off the air, let it sit for about 10 mins - this allows the eggs to float and bbs to sink. I then siphon them through the existing airline into a hankie and feed them bbs.
I forgot to mention that the coke bottle had a hole cut in the bottom (which is now the top) to add water, salt and eggs.
Clear as mud?? :lol :lol
When I get re set up over there I will post some pics.

Anita is pretty spot on except that not all empty shells float. Utah ones do and so do Indian but San Francisco shells sink, so if you have them, put another hose about 25mm from the lid (in the neck) and siphon off the bbs from there. This will leave the empty shells sitting in the lid.

I cut two holes in the long sides of rectangular plastic down-pipe and screw it to my tank rack uprights (wood) trhrogh the short side and just drop the bottles in.

To keep your eggs viable longer, keep them (tighly closed) in the refrigerator. I think that they are excellent and cheap food for fry. I know that the price of a pound can is scary but it should stay viable for years if kept cool and dry.

What price are you being quoted?

Further to the Brine Shrimp breeding.

My Wife is a Screen printer, so for many years I have had access to a range of monofilament mesh sheets.

I siphon through a handkerchief and then through a set of sieves made from small plastic containers such as those used for storing leftovers in a refrigerator or freezer. The finest mesh is waterproof until dampened and it catches shrimp so fine they can be barely be seen and they can be fed to newly hatched Lace Gouramis. I cut the bottom from the containers with a hobby knife and stuck the mesh in with vinyl cement. Thread spacing starts at 43 per centimetre and the finest is about 150. I use coarser meshes for Daphnia and Cyclops. A local Screen Printing or Signwriting or Artists' Supplies House would probably agree to cut you 1/4 metre of each and you could share it with friends. Alternatively, a local small Screen Printer may give you some small scrap pieces as a gesture of goodwill so long as you don't make a welter of it or tell all your friends so that they become a nuisance. If someone does this for you, offer him/her a 6-pack of his/her favourite beer or mixer in return. It's worth it to you and you will then never be forgotten.

Anita,
----------------------------------------
Is that two Teaspoons of Rock Salt or two Tablespoons? I use 2 Tablespoons for that much water, then add more salt, Epsom salts, Carb Soda and Baker's Yeast after I take the first harvest. Keeps the bbs alive longer and lets them put on weight.

In tafe we hatched BBS in water ranging from 5ppt right up to 45ppt so they are pretty tolerent of the salinity.
