I should have said play sand and river sand needs to be washed,,,, play sand more so.

Used both, river sand looks more natural. I had Limnochromis auritus in the tank with play sand and they had no probs moving it around. Didn't stir up more than anything else I've used and never found any in any of my filters.

Just bought 6 bags of river sand last night, was a pita to clean!
3hrs of cleaning to get the water to run clear. Plan on putting it in tonight so after its settled i'll post up some photos......either than or everything will be dead lol
